Regarding Promotion Of Tourism In Rayagada And Koraput Districts Of Odisha. on 26 November, 2019
Seventeenth Loksabha > Title: Regarding promotion of tourism in Rayagada and Koraput Districts of Odisha.
SHRI SAPTAGIRI SANKAR ULAKA (KORAPUT) : Sir, Rayagada and Koraput districts in Southern Odisha are filled with pristine and unmatched natural beauty, lush valleys, perennial rolling mountain streams, religious and historical heritage, and rich tribal culture which provide huge potential for development of tourism and job creation. Developing specific themes will attract a lot of tourists due to the exotic location and heritage. I would urge the hon. Minister of Tourism to approve a few circuits under “Swadesh Darshan Scheme” given the huge potential.
Tribal Circuit includes key destinations like Rayagada, Gunupur (Puttasingh), Bantabiri Village , Onukadelli , Machhakund, Gupteswar, Nandapur, Kunduli , Koraput, Kurli , Kolab, Kakriguma, Sunki, Paduwa, Deomali and Rathibali , etc. Religious Circuit includes key destinations like Rayagada, Chatikona, Padmapur, Bissamcuttack, Neelabadi, Koraput, Jeypore, Gupteswar, Sunabeda, Damanjodi, Subai, Nandapur, Pedapadu, Padua, Kechela and Ramagiri Tribal Hatt, etc. The current footfall is 50,000 and with approval, this would increase manifold. I would request the Minister of Tourism to take necessary steps and approve the same.
