(1)The Lokayukta or Upa-Lokayukta shall not be a member of either House of Parliament or of a House of the Legislature of any State, nor shall behold any office of trust or profit (other than his office as the Lokayukta or, as the case may be, Upa-Lokayukta) or shall be connected with any political party, or shall carry on any business or practice any profession.
