(8)[ Where any person entitled to or drawing pension under this Act died in between the 1st day of April, 1977 and the 1st day of April, 1986, the spouse of such person shall be entitled to pension at the rate of fifty per cent of the pension that would have been admissible to such person on the 1st day of April, 1986 or five hundred rupees, whichever is higher.] [Sub-Section (8) inserted by West Bengal Act 27 of 2000, w.e.f. 1.4.2000.]
