(5)In case the office of the Vice-Chancellor becomes vacant due to death, resignation, expiry of term, due to illness or such other cause, the Chancellor, on the recommendations of the State Government may appoint any person to perform the functions of the Vice-Chancellor until a new Vice-Chancellor is appointed or, as the case may be.
