Section 250(1) in The Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888
(1)The owner or occupier of any premises on which there is a privy shall -(a)have between such privy and any building or place used or intended to be used for human habitation, or in which any person may be or may be intended to be employed in any manufacture, trade or business, an air space of at least three feet in width and open to the sky;(b)have such privy shut off by a sufficient roof and wall, or fence, from the view of persons dwelling in the neighbourhood or passing by;(c)unless and except for such period as he shall be permitted by the Commissioner, under the power next hereinafter conferred, to continue any existing door or trap-door, close up and not keep any door or trap door in such privy opening on to a street.
