Section 1 in The Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1961
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1961.(2)It extends to the whole of the State of Maharashtra except Greater Bombay(3)It shall come into force on such [date] [1st May, 1962, vide G.N.C. and R.D.D. No. D.C.D 6162-No. dated 26th March, 1962.] as the State Government may, by Notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
