83. Duties of Head Warders on Relieving Guard.

(1)Every Head Warder shall, at least ten minutes before the hour fixed for relieving the guard on duty, collect the warders of the relieving guard at the main gate of the jail. At the proper time he shall march the relieving guard of warders to their respective posts and remove the guard to be relieved.
(2)When relieving the warders of gangs working inside and outside the walls, the Head Warder of the relieving guard shall before removing the warders then in charge and about to be relieved, muster the prisoners and satisfy himself that the gang is complete and is made-up in the manner recorded in the gang book.
