Section 6 in Gujarat State Disaster Management Act, 2003
6. Establishment and incorporation of Authority.
(1)The State Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, establish an Authority by the name of the Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority with effect from such date as may be specified in the notification.(2)The Authority shall be a body corporate, with perpetual succession and common seal and may sue or be sued in its corporate name and shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, be competent to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both movable and immovable, and to contract and do all things necessary for the purposes of this Act.(3)The headquarters of the Authority shall be at such place as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify.(4)The Authority may, with the approval of the State Government, establish offices at such other places within or outside the State as the Authority thinks fit.
