Section 16(1) in The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Act, 1978
(1)Any director may resign his office, by giving notice in writing to the Government and the director giving such notice of the resignation, shall, on notification by the Government, be deemed to have vacated his office on and from the date on which the resignation is so notified.
