Section 29(ii) in The Manipur University Act, 1980
(ii)promote an awareness of the rich cultural tradition of Manipur which is a national heritage and is an example of a happy blending of the cultures of both India and south-east Asia ; and provide for the study of the culture of Manipur in this wider context;
