Section 83 in The Agricultural Produce Marketing (Development and Regulation) Act, 2007
83. Repeal and Savings.
(1)The Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1963 (Act No. XX of 1964), as extended to the State of Goa, is hereby repealed.(2)Notwithstanding such repeal,-(i)anything done or any action taken (including any appointment, delegation or declaration made, notification, rule, direction or notice issued, bye-laws framed, market area, markets, sub-markets, market yards and sub-market yards declared, established or notified, licences granted, fees levied and collected, instruments executed, any fund established or constituted) by or under the provisions of the repealed Act, shall, in so far as it is not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Act and shall continue in force unless and until superseded by anything done or any action taken under this Act;(ii)unless the Government otherwise directs, the Marketing Board constituted under the repealed Act, the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and members appointed shall continue to exercise their powers until the expiry of their term under the repealed Act or till the Marketing Board is constituted in accordance with the provisions of this Act, whichever is earlier.(3)On issue of directions under clause (ii) of sub-section (2), the provisions of this section shall apply as from the date specified in the direction as if the Marketing Board stood dissolved on that date.
