Section 1 in The Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board Act, 1978
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board Act, 1978.(2)It extends to the whole of the State of Gujarat excluding the areas comprised in Cities and cantonments.(3)This section shall come into force at once and the remaining provisions shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoints, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions, and any reference in any such provision to the date of commencement of this Act, shall be construed as reference to the date of coming into force of that provision.
