Section 8(c) in The Tamil Nadu Beedi Industrial Premises (Regulation of Conditions of Work) Act, 1958
(c)all inside walls, and partitions, all ceilings or tops of rooms and all walls, side and tops of passages and staircases shall-(i)where they are painted or varnished, or where they have smooth impervious surfaces, be cleaned at least once in every period of fourteen months by such methods as may be prescribed;(ii)where they are painted or varnished be re-painted or re-vanished at least once in every period of five years;(iii)in any other case, be kept white washed or colour washed at least once in every twelve months.
