Section 8(d) in The Central Reserve Police Force Rules, 1955
(d)For those directly recruited as subordinate or under officer, their seniority shall be determined in the following manner, namely:--(i)before confirmation every such officer shall take his seniority in the rank to which he is so recruited in accordance with the order of merit at the recruitment test; and(ii)on confirmation, he shall take his seniority from the date of such confirmation:
