The appellant has sought the details of the various directions/instructions issued by the Defence Minister and/or the State Minister for Defence, to the officers of the Ministry or the three defence wings or to other public authorities, in the wake of the Rafale deal controversy related to the purchase of 36 multirole fighter aircraft for an estimated price of Rs.58,000 crore (equal to 7.8 billion euros) from France Dassault Aviation.
Grounds for Second Appeal The CPIO did not provide any information.
Submissions made by Appellant and Respondent during Hearing:
The appellant submitted that till date while some information has been provided, the desired information has not been provided to her.
The CPIO reiterated the contents of his written submissions dated 18.03.2021.
Observations:
From a perusal of the relevant case records, it is noted that the written submissions of the CPIO dated 18.03.2021 are detailed and self-explanatory. On a query to the CPIO as to whether he has sent a copy of these submissions to the appellant as well, he submitted that they have already emailed the submissions to the appellant. At this point, the appellant submitted that since she did not check her mail she is not aware if she has received them or not. Under such circumstances, the CPIO is directed to resend a copy of the submissions dated 18.03.2021 to the appellant on her email id [email protected].2
Decision:
In view of the above, the CPIO is directed to resend a copy of the submissions dated 18.03.2021 to the appellant on the above mentioned email id within 01 day from today.
The appeals are disposed of accordingly.
