Section 1041(a) in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943
(a)The qualifications for the grant of the Indian Police Medal shall be as follows:-(i)Conspicuous gallantry.(ii)Valuable services characterised by resource and devotion to duty, including prolonged service of ability and merit.
