Facts:
1. The appellant did not avail of the opportunity of personal hearing on 12/11/2008. The appeal is, therefore, examined on merit.
2. On perusal of documents submitted by the appellant, it is observed that he has asked for certain information, which is already in public domain. The CPIO has invited him to inspect and specify the information, which should be furnished as per the relevant rules of the respondent. Being not satisfied with the response, the appellant has pleaded for furnishing the information as per the provisions of the RTI Act.
Decision:
3. As the information asked for is already in public domain and for acquiring such information, the prescribed charges are also specified, there is no justification for invoking the provisions of the RTI Act.
4. The appellant is, therefore, advised to obtain the information as per the relevant rules of the respondent, which requires payment of service charges.
