Section 2(k) in Assam Co-Operative Societies Act, 2007
(k)"Co-operative" where used as a noun means an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common socio-economic need through a jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprise formed in co-operative principles and registered under this Act;
