                                 ORDER

06.12.2024

01. Compliance report stands filed by the respondents, wherein it is stated that work order was placed in gross violation of GFR/CV guidelines by the then Assistant Executive Engineer and the Executive Engineer, without confirmation by the competent authority. Besides, it is further stated that the matter being old, as such, cannot be processed as per the present pay system in light of the instructions issued by the Finance Department and the Standing orders.

02. This Court vide order dated 23.11.2022 which is subject matter of the present contempt petition, directed the respondents to arrange the requisite funds and release the admitted payment on account of the execution of the work within a period of two months from the date copy of the said order is served upon the respondents, failing which, the respondents were held liable to pay interest @6% per annum on the entire amount from the date the same amount has become due till it is actually paid to the petitioner.

03. The respondents cannot take a lame excuse for not complying the order passed by this Court. In view of this, let fresh compliance report strictly in tune with the order/judgment subject matter of the present contempt petition, be filed positively on or before the next date of hearing, failing which, the respondent concerned shall appear in person before the Court on the next date of hearing.
