Section 61(iii) in The Orissa Motor Vehicles Rules, 1993
(iii)In case of perishable articles so found in public vehicles, these articles will be sold as quickly as possible by the aforesaid responsible officer and the sale proceeds shall be held in deposit at the office or the station of the holder of the permit of the vehicle for a period of one month. If no claimant turns up during this period, the amount will be deposited in the treasury.
