1141. Erasures and corrections in account registers and records.
- Erasures and overwritings in any account register or records or in the cash book are absolutely forbidden; if any correction be necessary, the incorrect entry shall be cancelled neatly in red ink, and the correct entry inserted. Any such correction; or any interpolation deemed necessary should be authenticated by the head of the office or any other gazetted officer authorised to deal with account matters.
