17. Power of competent authority and appellate authority to summon and enforce attendance of witnesses etc.
- The competent authority and the appellate authority shall, for the purposes of -(a)summoning and enforcing the attendance of any witness, or(b)production of any document,while performing any function or discharging any duty under this Act, have the same powers as are vested in a civil court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, while trying a suit.
