Background
1. The Applicant filed an RTI application dt.8.12.08 with the CPIO, DoP, Agra.
He requested for information against 9 points regarding charges against one Mr.R.K.Trivedi including action taken on his complaint that he sent vide letter dt.27.8.07. The CPIO replied on 4.2.09 furnishing point wise information. Aggrieved with the reply, the Applicant filed a complaint dt.20.4.09 before the CIC.
2. The Bench of Mrs. Annapurna Dixit, Information Commissioner, scheduled the hearing for June 16, 2009.
3. Mr.K.G.Kulshrestha, CPIO, Agra; Mr.H.K.Verma, representing CPIO, Jhansi and Mr.Anil Kumar, ASPos, Agra represented the Public Authority.
4. The Applicant was present during the hearing.
Decision
5. The Appellant admitted that he had received all the information. However he stated that he does not approve the action taken on his complaint regarding Mr. Trivedi and requested the Commission during the hearing to look into the matter. According to him, Mr. R.S. Nigam, the ex Sr. Post Master Jhansi had conducted the marriage of the daughter of one Mr. Puran Lal on 6.6.07 in the campus of the Head Post Office and also provided him water, electricity rooms and other facilities, using Government money. However, according to the Respondent, the CPIO, Jhansi had, in a letter dated 13.1.2009 stated that only the ground was provided for the marriage and that all other costs were not met using Government money. The Commission holds that the request of the Appellant to the Commission to look into the matter of use of Government money for conducting a marriage is beyond the purview of the RTI Act and since all available information has been provided to the Appellant, accordingly disposes of the appeal.
