Section 51 in West Bengal Children Act, 1959

51. Repeals and savings.

- The Reformatory Schools Act, 1897,(Act. VIII of 1897). in so far as it applies to any area in West Bengal, the Bengal Children Act, 1922,(ben. Act II of 1922) the Bengal Borstal Schools Act, 1928 (BEN Act I of 1928) and the Bengal Vagrancy Act, 1943, (Ben. Act VII of 1943) in so far as it applies to neglected children, shall stand repealed:Provided that-
(a)all reformatory, industrial or borstal schools established or certified under any of the aforesaid Acts shall, on such repeal, be deemed to have been established or certified, as the case may be, under sub-section (2) of section 7 of this Act;
(b)all cases, proceedings or appeals pending before any Court under any of the aforesaid Acts shall, on such repeal, be continued and disposed of by the said Court notwithstanding anything in this Act as if they were cases, proceeding and appeals under this Act;
(c)all appeals against orders of Courts appointed or established under any of the aforesaid Acts shall, on such repeal be deemed to he appeals from orders made by Courts under this Act and shall be presented to Courts empowered to hear appeals under this Act and shall be disposed of accordingly;
(d)all licences granted under any of the aforesaid Acts shall, on such appeal. be deemed to have been granted under this Act;
(c)any appointment, notification, notice, order, rule or form made or issued under any of the aforesaid Acts shall, on such repeal, continued in force and be deemed to have been made or issued under the provisions of this Act, in so far as it is not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act and shall continue in force unless and until it is superseded by any appointment, notification, notice, order, rule or form made or issued under this
