Section 45(5) in The Tamil Nadu Town Panchayats, Third Grade Municipalities, Municipalities and Corporations (Elections) Rules, 2006
(5)With a view to prevent impersonation of electors and facilitating their identification at the time of poll, every elector shall produce documentary evidence establishing his identity as may be specified and in the manner directed by the State Election Commission in this behalf, from time to time.
