328. Notice to prisoner confined in jail to show cause against enhancement of sentence.
- Where notice is sent to the officer incharge of a jail for service upon a prisoner confined in the jail calling upon him to show cause why his sentence should not be enhanced, it shall require such officer to serve the notice and return it along with an endorsement showing that the notice has been served upon the prisoner and that he has been informed that he can appear either in person or by an Advocate in the High Court and that if he desires to appear in person, necessary arrangements will be made for his presence in that Court by him through the District Magistrate. It shall further require him to indicate whether the prisoner wishes to appear in person and show cause against his conviction or decline to appear in person or to show cause against such conviction.Paper-Book
