(1)Chancellor shall be appointed by the Sponsoring trust.(2)The Chancellor shall be the head of the University.(3)The Chancellor shall preside over the meetings of the Governing Board and shall, when the Visitor is not present, preside at the convocation of the University for the purpose of conferring degrees, diplomas, awards, certificates or other academic distinctions.(4)The Chancellor shall have the following powers, namely:-(a)to call for any information or record of the University;(b)to appoint the Vice-Chancellor;(c)to remove the Vice-Chancellor in accordance with the provisions made under this Act;(d)such other powers as may be provided for by the Statutes.
