Section 21 in The Calcutta Suburban Police Act, 1866

21. Penalty for keeping up sign-board or notice after expiry of license.—

Whenever any license granted as aforesaid shall have ceased to have effect, it shall be lawful for the Commissioner of Police to order the person to whom such license shall have been granted to remove or cause to be removed any sign-board or other notice which such person might have been therefore bound, under the terms of his said license, to keep affixed on or near the house or place of public resort or entertainment for which such license had been granted; and any person who shall fail to obey any such order forthwith shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine of ten rupees for every day thereafter during which he shall so fail.
