Seventeenth Loksabha > Title: Regarding extension of the Pollachi-Thiruchendur Train Service Upto Palakkad and Pollachi-Palakkad Train Service upto Palani-laid.
KUMARI RAMYA HARIDAS (ALATHUR): The Pollachi-Thiruchendur-Palakkad train was a great help to the pilgrims from Kerala, especially from Palakkad district to the Palani, Mathura, Thiruchendur Temples which are various pilgrim centres in south India. In addition, this train was a great help to those who were going from various centres of Kerala to Tamil Nadu for various jobs and other activities. The train had been stopped for a long time during the crisis of Covid-19 and is going to be restarted soon. It is learned that the service will start excluding Kerala. As there is no train from Palakkad to Palani or Rameswaram during the day time, the extension of Pollachi train to Palani will be very beneficial to the people of Kerala, especially for Palakkad. So I humbly request the Government to consider the above grievances and sanction the extension of the Pollachi-Thiruchendur train service upto Palakkad and also request to extend the Pollachi-Palakkad train service up to Palani for the benefit of Public of Palakkad district in Kerala.
