1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Jammu and Kashmir Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957.(2)It extends to the whole of the State of Jammu and Kashmir.(3)[ It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Government Gazette, appoint.] [Enforced w.e.f. 1st October, 1957 vide Home Department Notification No. TR-54/57 (G.G. 1st October, 1957.).]
