Section 2 in Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur Act, 2019
2. Definitions.
- In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires,-(a)"Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University as constituted under section 22;(b)"affiliated college" means an educational institution admitted to the privileges of the University;(c)"autonomous college" means an educational institution declared as such under the provisions of this Act;(d)"Board" means the Board of Management of the University constituted under section 20;(e)"Comptroller" means the Finance officer of the University appointed under section 15;(f)"constituent college" means a college maintained by the University;(g)"Faculty" means a Faculty of the University;(h)"Finance Committee" means the Finance Committee of the University constituted under section 26;(i)"prescribed" means prescribed by the Statutes, Ordinances or Regulations;(j)"Principal" means the Chief Executive Officer of a college or any person duly appointed to act as such;(k)"Registrar" means the Registrar of the University appointed under section 14;(l)"Statutes", "Ordinances" and "Regulations" mean the Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations of the University made under sections 43, 45 and 47 respectively;(m)"student of the University" means a person enrolled in the University for taking a course of study for a degree, diploma or other academic distinction duly instituted;(n)"teacher" means a person appointed or recognized by the University for the purpose of imparting instruction or conducting and guiding research and includes a person who may be declared by the Statutes to be a teacher;(o)"University" means the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur incorporated under section 3; and(p)"University Department" means a Department maintained by the University.
