31. [ General holidays. [Substituted by Notification No. 1944-2312-III-Jail. dated 28-9-1963]
- Sundays, Republic Day, Independence Day, Holi, Muharrum, Gandhi Jayanti, Dasehra, Diwali (Two days), Christmas Day, Id-ul-Fitr, Id-i Milad, Shivaratri, Janmastami, Ramnavami, Rakshabandhan, Ganesh Chaturthi, Mahabir Jayanti and Guru Nanak Day shall be regarded as general holidays for the institution and no work except such as may be necessary for the internal management and domestic economy of the institution, or is required by an emergency, shall be permitted.]
