- This Act may be called the Indian Law Reports Act, 1875.Local extent. - It extends to the whole of India [except the State of Jammu and Kashmir] [Substituted by Act 3 of 1951 for "except Part B States".];Commencement. - And it shall come into force on such day [as the Central Government notifies in this behalf in the Official Gazette.] [1st January, 1876, vide Notification No. 22, dated the 23rd November, 1875, Gazette of India, 1875, Part I, page 589.]
