Section 7(5) in The Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya Act, 2000
(5)to hold examinations and confer degrees, titles, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions on persons who-(a)shall have pursued prescribed courses of studies, unless exempted therefrom in the manner prescribed, and shall have passed such examinations as may be prescribed, or(b)shall have earned on research in accordance with such conditions as may be prescribed,
