Section 24 in Tamil Nadu Minor Inams (Abolition and Conversion into Ryotwari) Rules, 1965

24. Award of costs.

(1)No costs, by way of process fee, pleader's fee and witness batta, shall be allowed in proceedings before a Tribunal and the Special Appellate Tribunal in case where the claim is uncontested or is decreed on admission or compromised.
(2)Where a claim is contested before a Tribunal or the Special Appellate Tribunal, but is allowed in whole or in part, costs shall be allowed to the claimant or appellant in proportion to his success against contest and the contesting party or respondent shall pay such costs to the claimant or appellant.
(3)In the event of any claim before a Tribunal or the Special Appellate Tribunal being dismissed wholly or in part, costs shall be allowed to the contesting party or respondent in proportion to his success.
(4)In cases of frivolous or vexatious claims or defences, costs shall be allowed also by way of compensation as laid down in section 35-A of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Central Act V of 1908).
(5)Where costs are awarded by a Tribunal or the Special Appellate Tribunal, the order for costs shall be executable by a Civil Court having jurisdiction over the area with reference to which the Tribunal or the Special Appellate Tribunal gave its decision, as if it were a decree passed by such Court.
