Need To Set Up A Cghs Dispensary In Thrissur, Kerala. on 21 December, 2015
Sixteenth Loksabha an> Title: Need to set up a CGHS dispensary in Thrissur, Kerala.
SHRI C.N. JAYADEVAN (THRISSUR): There is a need to set up a CGHS dispensary in Thrissur. That is my main subject.
At present there is only one CGHS dispensary in Kerala, that too, located in Thiruvananthapuram, the southern most tip of the State. So, the CGHS beneficiaries of the northern part of Kerala totalling about 50,000 have to truck a long distance to reach this dispensary for getting treatment and collecting medicines. That means, these senior citizens have to travel a long distance and stay 2-3 days in Thiruvananthapuram to collect the medicine for a month.
In order to avoid much hardship to these retired senior citizens, I request the Government to set up a CGHS dispensary in Thrissur which is geographically central part of the State and has sufficient infrastructure and better road and rail transport connectivity. Thank you.

Kunwar Pushpendra Singh Chandel is permitted to associate with the issue raised by Shri C.N. Jayadevan.
