Column 4 [of Register (R)23] [Inserted by C.S. No. 31.] is meant to contain an abstract of the charge. Offences are to be stated as concisely as possible with the section of the Indian Penal Code or other law applicable. When a prisoner is charged with several offences, the heads of charge on which he has been convicted must be indicated by red underlining.
