16. [ Incorporation of municipality. [Substituted vide Haryana Act 3 of 1994.]
- Every municipality shall be a body corporate to be known as by the name of Municipal Council or the Municipal Committee of its municipal area and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal, with power to acquire and hold property, both movable and immovable, and subject to the provisions of this Act or the rules, to transfer any property held by it, to contract and to do all other things necessary for the purposes of its constitution; and may sue and be sued in its corporate name.]
