Section 3(k) in Life Insurance Corporation of India (Staff) Regulations, 1960
(k)"Special pay" means an addition of the nature of pay to the emoluments of a post or of an employee in consideration of(i)the specially arduous nature of duties; or(ii)specific addition to the work or responsibility.
