In a related matter, the applicant has approached the Hon'ble Supreme Court in SLP No.2642/2018. The Hon'ble Supreme Court had directed the respondents to complete the disciplinary enquiry against the applicant within the prescribed period of time.
2. Shri Hanu Bhaskar, learned counsel for the respondents today placed on record a copy of an order of Hon'ble Supreme Court dated 14.05.2018 whereby the period for completion of DE proceedings has been extended up to 30.07.2018.
3. In the present OA, the applicant has impugned the memorandum of charges dated 07.09.2012 in respect of which the DE proceedings have been set in motion by the respondents and as noticed herein above, the DE proceedings are required to be completed by 30.07.2018 as directed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court.
4. In this view of the matter, we consider it appropriate to dispose of this OA at this stage with liberty to the applicant to revive it in case the respondents failed to complete the DE proceedings by 30.07.2018. Both the learned counsel for the parties are ad idem.
5. Accordingly, the OA stands disposed of with the liberty as indicated above.
