Section 9(1) in Meghalaya Private Universities (Regulation of Establishment and Maintenance of Standards) Act, 2012
(1)There shall be a Higher Education Council to be called the 'Meghalaya Higher Education Council' for the purpose of assisting the Government on the matters of policy relating to development of higher education and maintaining of standards in higher education in the State of Meghalaya. Further terms of reference shall be specified in the rules.
