Section 8(b) in The Bharathiar University Statutes
(b)provide courses of study for admission to the examination for degrees of the University of [Chennai] [Substituted for the word 'Madras' by the City of Madras (Alteration of Name) Act, 1996 (Tamil Nadu Act 28 of 1996).], shall be deemed to be colleges affiliated to the Bharathiar University under this Act and the provisions of this Act shall, as far as may be, apply accordingly.
