Section 224(1)(a) in Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Corporation Act, 2000

(a)require the offender to show cause by a written statement signed by him and sent to the Commissioner on or before such date ad may be specified in the notice, why such street should not be altered to the satisfaction of the Commissioner or if such altered be impracticable why such street should not be demolished ; or
