(1)In the event of removal or a Sabhapati or an Up-Sabhapati under under section 27 or when a vacancy occurs in the office of a Sabhapati or an Up-Sabhapati by resignation, death or otherwise the Gram Panchayat shall elect another Sabhapati or Up-Sabhapati and the person so elected shall take office forthwith and shall hold such office for the unexpired term of office of his predecessor.
