Hear Sri Syed Fahim Ahmed, learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Standing Counsel and Sri Kaushalendra Nath Singh, learned counsel for respondents.

The petitioners claim themselves to be licensed vendors, running their petty business of street vending for their livelihood. Their grievance is that respondent authorities are trying to evict them from their respective vending zone and they may be protected from eviction in the light of Government Order dated 15.6.2017 issued by Chief Secretary for implementation of Section 3 (3) of 'The Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014' as well as order of this Court dated 1.5.2019 in Writ C No. 17004 of 2019 (Rohit Kumar and others Vs. State of UP and others).

He further submits that the petitioners have made a representation in this respect on 28.07.2020 and an appropriate direction may be issued to decide the same within a stipulated period.

Sri Kaushlendra Nath Singh, learned counsel appearing on behalf of development authority has no objection to the last submission.

No useful purpose would be served by keeping this petition pending in view of the order, which the Court proposes to pass hereunder.

The writ petition is disposed of with the direction to the competent authority concerned to decide the pending representation dated 28.07.2020, or a fresh representation, as the case may be, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within six weeks from the date of receipt of this order, in accordance with law, under intimation to the petitioners.
