(3)In either of the cases covered by sub-regulations (1) and (2), the Senior Officer shall relinquish all command and authority on board the ship in which he is temporarily borne by his own order as soon as the exigencies of the Service will admit thereof, and he shall forthwith report to his superior authority, for the information of the Government, the circumstances which rendered it necessary for him to avail himself of the provisions of this Regulation.Section III - General Regulations
