(b)The barracks shall be visited once in every hour throughout the night by a patrolling officer who should examine the gratings and doors and satisfy himself that they are secure and that the convict-officer on duty inside is on the alert. He should frequently challenge him with this object and enquire the number of prisoners and if all are present.
