17. New Accounting system.
- The Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishad shall maintain its accounts in accordance with the accounting system prescribed by the Government of India, Ministry of Panchayati Raj along with amendments in formats or otherwise, in view of the requirements of the State Government or Central Government or otherwise:Provided that till the new system of accounts is completely introduced or till such period as may be determined by the Director Rural Development and Panchayats, the Panchayat Samttis and the Zila Parkhads shall continue to maintain the existing system.
