Section 20(1)(xvii) in Veer Narmad South Gujarat University Act, 1965

(xvii)to arrange for and direct the inspection of affiliated colleges, recognised institutions, approved institutions and hostels, to issue instructions for maintaining their efficiency and for ensuring proper conditions of employment for members of their staff; and in case of disregard of such instructions, to modify the conditions of their affiliations or recognition or take such other steps as it deems proper;
