Section 6(1) in Mother Teresa Women's University Act, 1984
(1)No person shall be qualified for nomination as a member of any of the authorities of the University if, on the date of such nomination, she is -(a)of unsound mind or [ deaf-mute or suffering from leprosy; Omited by Tamil Nadu Universities Laws (Third Amendment) Act, 2022] (or)(b)an applicant to be adjudicated as an insolvent as an insolvent or an or undischarged insolvent, (or)(c)Sentenced by a criminal court to imprisonment for any offence involving moral turpitude.
